HAVE A BEAUTIFUL LIFE.

On a day like this very many years ago, it is common to see people go out to scare some peeps or raise a false alarm. When this is done and everyone is everywhere. What you will hear is “April Fool”. Funny enough, it doesn’t seem to happen so much these days as it was then. Somehow everyone has come to the knowledge that one way or the other, we are telling lies that way and we could say something that could later turn out to be true.

On this day I want to welcome you to April and to share with you some “April Facts”. Some of us are living consciously as this week is known to be the “Holy Week”. So many activities outlined for the Easter Season. I for one would be attending what we call a ‘Retreat’. Some of you would travel to visit family and friends or even host them. Some of you might decide to catch up on old times with friends. Whatever you would be doing on this day and in this week and month or wherever you may be, let us not forget that God desires we live and enjoy a beautiful life.

ACQUAINT yourself with your maker. When you wrong a man like you, it’s almost if not so difficult for him to forgive and forget what you have done, let alone be available to be of help or assistance to you. It’s not the same with your maker, he knows you would wrong him at some point and the more reason while he never shuts the door of forgiveness and never allowed the ocean of forgetfulness to dry up. When you are at peace with God, Life would be beautiful, sweet, enjoyable and worth living.  Quit quarreling with God! Agree with him and you will have peace at last! His favor will surround you if you will only admit that you were wrong. Listen to his instructions and store them in your heart. If you return to God and put right all the wrong in your home, then you will be restored. Job 22:21-23 (TLB)

PONTIFICATE about nothing. One prayer point that is always on the lips of my husband and I is, “Lord, as you keep blessing us on every side, help us to always remain humble.” It is almost so difficult to be blessed and not be pompous about it. When I read about how the proud will be humbled if they continue being proud, I tremble. Don’t let the Lord humble you, you would wish you were not alive if he does. Therefore, be humble, no matter the height you’ve attained or the blessings you’ve received. A proud person will soon be ruined, but a humble person will be honored. Proverbs 18:12 (ERV) The payoff for meekness and Fear-of-God is Plenty and Honor and a Satisfying life. Proverbs 22:4 (MSG)

RELINQUISH your bumptious and ostentatious attitude. I remember the story of the Man who was praying in scriptures and was telling God how good he was unlike the other Man. Oh how irritated I would have been if I was there. In this month, what are those irritating and pretentious attitude that we exhibit? It’s high time we changed. Become a better version of yourself. Don’t portray yourself as who you are not. Don’t pretend to be a friend just to know if you are better or ahead of that person. Don’t help someone and sound a trumpet for all of us to see how good you are. The end result of a pretentious attitude is that you lose your reputation, your dignity or your relationships. Above all, you would lose out on God’s blessings and his eternal kingdom as well.

INTERACT with people who will make you better. We find all kinds of people where we work, live, shop, and fellowship. The only way to discover those who will bring out the best in us is when we interact. Let’s associate ourselves with positive people, those who are in to put their best and give their best for success. Sometimes, the people we hang around or interact with put a dent on our image one way or the other. Become wise by walking with the wise; hang out with fools and watch your life fall to pieces. Proverbs 13:20 (MSG)

LIVE, LOVE AND LEARN everyday as though it’s you last. When driven by our natural tendencies, we find ourselves loving only those who love us and learning from only the famous and influential. I remember my dad saying in one of our family altar that, we learn everyday and we should be open to learn from everyone irrespective of their age, status and stature. Parents learn from children as much as children from parents. Employers from employees and so on as the case may be. You learn the good, see the bad experiences and learn from them. What about Love? Hmmmm, I am no saint to this at all, because, I still told God today to give me the grace to love those who hurt me deeply. There is a difference between forgiving someone for wrong done and loving such a one inspite of the wrong done. You have heard people say, “Love your neighbors and hate your enemies.” But I tell you to love your enemies and pray for anyone who mistreats you. Then you will be acting like your Father in heaven. He makes the sun rise on both good and bad people. And he sends rain for the ones who do right and for the ones who do wrong. If you love only those people who love you, will God reward you for that? Even tax collectors love their friends. If you greet only your friends, what’s so great about that? Don’t even unbelievers do that? Matthew 5:43-47 (CEV)

God bless you.
