I always looked forward to Christmas as a kid because, aside from wearing new clothes, we ate food like fried rice and chicken and we had the opportunity of visiting friends. Some other Christmas, we were at camp with other church members and yes we wore our new clothes there and the rice prepared and shared that day was special too.
Growing up, I never placed so much importance to clothes and food on Christmas Day anymore. It became like every other day to me just that it was Christmas Day. At some point, it was at the end of the day I remembered, “Oh today is Christmas!”
We are surrounded by people with great needs and just as we have been sharing LOVE in various forms this past 5 days, I want to encourage you on this Sunday Morning, Afternoon or Night (whichever applies to you) to plan towards putting a smile on one person’s face this Christmas. As you sit on that comfortable couch watching TV or as you stand making that delicious Sunday meal or even as you lie on that cozy bed of yours, think of someone that would look back and remember that because of you, he/she/they smiled and were very happy.
I am not asking you to buy someone a brand new car or build a house for someone or do something so out of the ordinary; but if you can, why not. All I am asking is that today, take your pen and write down what you wanna do for atleast one person for Christmas. Maybe buy that little child a toy, give that single mother some money, whatever it is is up to you. Just plan.
WELCOME TO DECEMBER!!!
