The bible is more than just a book we read on Sunday or during church programs. It is one that holds within its pages, steps, guidelines, instructions, knowledge and great information.
Like so many of you, growing up, we always had morning devotions. Sometimes, Dad would say we should share a lesson from the whole passage or the verses each of us read. Sometimes, it was difficult to look for the lessons especially when your eyes is half open and all you did was to read it fast so that you can get back to dozing. Many a times, my sisters and I would stay on that verse, heads bent down or bible brought to face and eyes looking with all concentration but no words. Dad would just have to explain by himself and once again, Dad shares Rhema that you will never ever forget.
Morning devotions with Dad are memories that I will never forget. Sometimes I wonder, how does Dad know all these? Study of the bible over and over again I believe, but its so much more than that. Now as I have the opportunity to find God within the pages of the bible everyday, sometimes like those mornings, I am speechless – the words to describe what I just read disappears and I am uttering sounds like, Hmmmm! Uhmmm! Wow!!! okay wow is a word.
Through the month of May as the Holy Spirit helps me, I will be sharing from Stories in the Old testament and how we can apply lessons from them to our lives to remain beautiful or become beautiful. Everything we need to know about every area of our lives is within the pages of the bible. That I have come to discover.
Now, beautiful here, has nothing to do with your looks or your figures, rather, it has everything to do with your mind, your thoughts, your life behind closed doors away from the public eye. In a world where there is always something posted online – some true and some false – we must be careful not to think we have become the most beautiful person ever because looking in the mirror by ourselves, we will see what our mind wants us to see, but looking through the eyes of others, we would see where we need to adjust.
I am sure you have heard that majority of what we manifest can be linked to the content of our hearts. While, we may have people who can pretend to be someone or something else; like an actor who doesn’t act forever, it won’t be long before you see what you have never seen before. But God created us so beautiful. Even though the sin of man tainted this beauty, the precious blood of Jesus washes away all spots and stains and restores us to the beautiful human, He and His Father created.
“Those who look to God will shine;their faces are never ashamed.” Psalm 34:5 (Common English Bible)
“God created human beings; he created them godlike, Reflecting God’s nature. He created them male and female.” Genesis 1:27 (The Message)

Replace Husbands with People, friends or family members.
“There are husbands who, indifferent as they are to any words about God, will be captivated by your life of holy beauty. What matters is not your outer appearance—the styling of your hair, the jewelry you wear, the cut of your clothes—but your inner disposition. Cultivate inner beauty, the gentle, gracious kind that God delights in.” 1 Peter 3:2-4 (The message)
God bless you greatly Sis.
